The views and thoughts of two black Americans
„None of my credentials mattered“
Donovan and James are both in their thirties and doing pretty well in life. The former works in a bookshop while the latter one is in the financial business. They don’t know one another. But they have something in common – both are black. Tageblatt asked them to share their views with Luxembourg’s readers on what is currently happening in America – and mostly what has been going awry for far too long already.

There are two levels of the same reaction, the same feeling black Americans are having right now. The immediate feeling is outrage. The Murder of black people, public or not, is tacitly and generally accepted by mainstream America. The first level is feeling appalled at the pure injustice of it. The naked reality that, even still, over 150 years after slavery was abolished, there's still a distinct and explicit disregard for black life.
